The next step is to GROW. After all, what is the point in connecting with a church unless it helps you to grow closer to God? At Lazybrook Baptist Church, we dedicate a lot of effort to helping you do just that. The following are opportunities for you to grow and be challenged spiritually at our church. Click the arrows to read more about each one.
One of the key components to growing spiritually is learning about God’s Word and how to apply it to your life. We offer Bible Study classes for all different age groups that help you do just that. Bible Studies are where people often find it easiest to meet new friends and build relationships, so it is a great place to plug into the life of our church!
Our Girls In Action(GA’s) meet every Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. to study mission activities and missionaries around the world. The girls learn to share their faith, baking cookies for the Star of Hope, making “Gospel” bracelets to send with our short term mission teams, and encouraging our ill and homebound members with handmade cards. A big event for the girls is GA Camp where the usual camping experience is expanded to include, worship, mission projects and other mission focused activities.
Ryan Farmer is deeply invested in shepherding young men at an early age and providing positive role models which sadly is lacking in many families. He is very engaging in presenting Bible Stories and encouraging Scripture memory. Additional men assist with recreation and snacks. The boys also go on occasional outings to a ballgame or movie.
Each summer, we host a Vacation Bible School for the Lazybrook and surrounding communities. We have over 100 kids join us annually for an amazing week of making new friends, learning more about Jesus, and having a ton of fun! The theme is different each year, but we always have a great time and kids are always challenged spiritually. That’s probably why we see them back year after year!
“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” Hebrews 10:25. At Lazybrook, we gather each Sunday morning at 10:45 am to worship and praise God together through singing and the study of God’s Word. Our Sunday morning worship service consists of a time of worship and praise led by our Choir and Praise Teams. We have a blended worship style, integrating powerful hymns as well as dynamic praise songs. We also have a time of prayer where our thanksgiving and concerns are lifted to God. Our worship service is a place where the church lifts its voice to God together, focuses our hearts and minds on Him.
Along with the music and prayer, we have powerful Biblically based preaching. This is a time for you to hear from God’s Word and be strengthened in your walk with God. We want to provide each person a chance to encounter God and leave worship energized and changed.
