Coronavirus Update (July 3, 2020)

Dear Church Family,

As we stated in our previous communication, “we continue to carefully monitor the situation, in regard to the coronavirus, and will make additional changes if the safety of our congregants should require it.”

In light of July 1 seeing the highest number of new COVID-19 cases in Houston since the beginning of the pandemic, a strong desire to lovingly protect our congregation and a request from the mayor’s office (delivered yesterday) we have made the difficult decision to return to online only worship services for at least the next three Sundays (July 5, 12 and 19). There are a vast number of factors that came in to play in regard to this difficult decision, two of the leading factors are the following…

  • Congregational Compassion – Scripture calls us to love God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength (Mark 12:30). It is our desire to both protect your physical wellbeing (strength) while providing for your spiritual wellbeing (heart, mind and soul).
  • Community Witness – Scripture also calls us to love our neighbors as ourself (Mark 12:31). While it may be permissible for us to meet in person, would it be beneficial (1 Corin. 10:23) to our witness to the very community that we are trying to love and reach?

So, we look forward to worshipping with you online Sunday morning at 11 AM. We will be partaking of The Lord’s Supper this Sunday (July 5) so please be ready with some type of cracker and juice. Click here to join us for worship online!

Please let us know if there is anything that you or your family need during this trying time! We are here to serve however we can!

Love In Christ,
Lazybrook Baptist Church Staff
