What’s trending? Pittsburgh Steelers veteran linebacker James Harrison made his 6 & 8 year old sons return their “participation trophies” because they hadn’t earned them. Harrison believes that attending or even doing your best may not be enough. You must achieve. (You may disagree with Harrison’s view corresponding to the self esteem of children, but he brings up a good point for adult standards). Imagine what this lesson may be for the church.
Is the job description of church members just to attend? On Sunday, Student Minister Reid Felchak urged us to be passionately devoted to “the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42). Church member, are you involved in a small group Bible study? This Sunday 9:30 am we begin new classes. If you aren’t involved, get engaged in God’s Word and the lives of other believers. Also at 10:45 am we will explore God’s goal for your growth (Ephesians 4:13). Join us!
